## London Borough of Culture 2027

## Haringey’s London Borough of Culture programme is building towards 2027 with a borough-wide vision: culture that’s created with communities, shared across neighbourhoods, and felt in everyday life.

From street corners to stadiums, from greengrocers to galleries, community, culture and creativity surrounds us. We live to question, to explore, and to uncover. We’re constantly in motion, always seeking new encounters. And we know that difference doesn’t divide us, it unites us.

London Borough of Culture 2027 is Haringey’s year-long celebration of the rebel spirit that defines us. It’s our chance to come together in neighbourhoods and green spaces, on high streets and stages, for feasts, parties, rituals and celebrations. Join us on this journey of discovery and dialogue, revelation and revelry. It’s going to be quite the trip.

This work is funded by the Mayor of London and is being delivered by Haringey Culture Collective on behalf of Haringey Council - bringing together residents, artists, community groups and local organisations to shape what happens, where it happens, and who it’s for.

Launched in 2017, London Borough of Culture is a Mayor of London initiative which puts culture at the heart of local communities, where it belongs. By shining a light on the character and diversity of London’s boroughs brings Londoners together and demonstrates that culture is for everyone.

Boroughs compete for £1.35 million from the Mayor of London to stage a year-long celebration of culture, using it as a catalyst to embed culture in how councils plan, deliver services and create economic opportunity. In addition the Mayor of London has provided extra funding ringfenced to support Liberty Festival, and a children and young people’s strand. Funding from Arts Council England is supporting a wide range of activities across the year with artists, participants and communities, including Liberty Festival. Support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund will also help communities explore, celebrate and share Haringey’s diverse local heritage. Previous winners of the award are: Waltham Forest, Brent, Lewisham, Croydon and Wandsworth.
